Migrating 100 servers from AWS to Oracle
The client is a travel distribution platform and had already developed a travel booking application, so they needed our help to move their servers. The company wanted to avoid the additional costs associated with using AWS servers. This project was essential for the client to achieve a successful result, smooth transitions and strengthen its role in the field.
The number one challenge faced within the migration procedure was to ensure the continued operation of the product. To guarantee a trouble-free transition, the challenge involved migrating 100 services from AWS to Oracle, even though keeping up ongoing operations and service delivery for end users. In this case, the wish to keep solid communication between servers located within separate, but nearby networks was a large technical difficulty. The necessity of working within closed AWS servers, which are not accessible to outside connections, required innovative answers to set up a connection between the different AWS and Oracle cloud platforms.
To meet these challenges, a detailed technical plan was developed, which was specialized in organizing a two-sided stable connection for the different AWS and Oracle systems. Finally, we set up stable connections while maintaining non-stop flow between the two platforms. This solution took four months to plan and another two months to build. By leveraging MySQL, and AWS, our team effectively migrated the customer’s services to Oracle, achieving a lot of financial savings with no break in ongoing operations. Such a migration method was an example of ASD Team’s powerful operations and technical expertise, resulting in a successful end result for our customers.
