BookingPal is a travel technology platform that connects Property Management Systems (PMS) with major vacation rental and hospitality channels, including Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, Expedia, and others. The platform manages reservations, rates, availability, taxes, payments, payouts, and channel synchronization across multiple integrated systems.
We are looking for a strong Junior QA Engineer who is eager to learn, enjoys investigating complex issues, and is ready to grow in a challenging integration-focused environment.
Must have
- Upper-intermediate English level
- Good understanding of software testing principles and SDLC/STLC. Knowledge of functional, regression, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and integration testing.
- Ability to design effective positive, negative, and edge-case test scenarios.
- Experience writing clear and structured bug reports.
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira or similar).
- Understanding of test documentation, test cases, and checklists.
- API Testing:
- Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP protocol.
- Experience using Postman (or similar tools).
- Ability to validate: HTTP methods, status codes, headers, JSON payloads, error responses.
- Basic understanding of authentication mechanisms (API Key, Basic Auth, Bearer Token).
- Database Validation:
- Basic SQL skills: SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, filtering and sorting data
- Ability to verify database changes after business operations.
- Understanding of relationships between application data and database records.
- Investigation & Troubleshooting:
- Ability to investigate defects using application logs and API responses.
- Understanding of backend processing and service interactions.
- Ability to isolate issues and collect useful information for developers.
- Curiosity and willingness to dig deeper into the root cause of problems.
Would be a plus
- Basic knowledge of automation testing concepts.
- Familiarity with Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools.
- Experience using Kibana, Grafana, or similar monitoring tools.
- Basic understanding of asynchronous processing and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
- Experience testing third-party API integrations.
- Knowledge of hospitality, travel, or reservation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional testing of web applications and backend features.
- Test reservation workflows, pricing, taxes, availability, payments, and payout scenarios.
- Execute API testing for internal services and third-party integrations.
- Validate API requests, responses, and business rules.
- Create, execute, and maintain test cases, checklists, and regression test suites.
- Analyze requirements and identify missing or unclear acceptance criteria.
- Report defects with detailed reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
- Verify application behavior using logs, database queries, and API responses.
- Participate in smoke, regression, and release validation testing. Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product managers to ensure feature quality.
